Victoria Japanese Preschool
Children need to be able to communicate in Japanese to join the Morning Class.
There is no Japanese skill requirement to the Afternoon Class.
JAPANESE ONLY POLICY
For the morning class, we adhere to a policy of only communicating in Japanese through out the program. For the afternoon class, we will be more flexible communicating in Japanese/English, depending on the individual level of Japanese.
JAPANESE MATERIALS (Books & Toys)
We provide a safe and fun environment for children. Surrounded by Japanese language & culture children learn Japanese naturally every day.
We use intellectual-training toys, like puzzle, blocks, KARUTA (Japanese matching cards), books, coloring and Japanese character writing. These free time play activities are essential to stimulating children's minds and expanding their Japanese communication skills.
We use singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, reading books, & KAMISHIBAI (Japanese story-telling performance with picture cards), felt-story, puppet, and Japanese character cards, mashed with seasonal themes in our circle time.
We use all kinds of raft materials including paint, crayons, pens, paper, clay, beads, cloth, plants, flowers, wood, scissors, glue, and ORIGAMI for our art activities with Japanese seasonal events to encourage children's creativity.
We encourage children to do large-motor play such as running, chasing, jumping and throwing through having fun with racing and games, such as tag, soccer, and skipping rope etc. We also take walks along the beautiful Gorge Waterway.
